Pre-Production: Props

Before shooting, we had to make sure that we had everything together so when we actually went to film everything would be set. One of the props we had to make includes the missing posters of the kidnapped children.

We also had to get the "kidnapping tools" including duct tape and rope for one of the major scenes of our film.

Pre Production: Getting The Camera

For our opening film sequence we have now gotten our camera to use for filming. A success we've had so far is being able to learn how to work the camera. Next week we are starting to film due to problems with the casting and time wise.

Here is the link to an instruction manual that we found to try and figure out how to work it.

Pre Production: In depth planning

Image result for script clipart"

For our movie we recently spent more time going  scene by scene for how we are going to shoot our movie.

Recap: Our overall plot was about a man who has kidnapped two kids and mentally believes that they are his children.

Here is our plan....

Scene One: Fades to the house (sets the setting) man walking in with groceries.

Scene Two: Cuts to man in the house washing his hands, getting the food out, then turning on the stove.

Scene Three: Man looks in the recipe book, cuts to him taking a newspaper page and putting it on his bulletin board. (kidnapping scene)

Scene Four: Kids laughing in the bathroom, man looks up to see kids running around the house, cuts to him watching kids run around at the park (kidnapping scene)

Scene Five: Man opens fridge to get an ingredient, the fridge closes and camera zooms in on a drawing of a girl, cuts to a missing poster.

Scene Six: Cuts back, man is setting the table, cuts to him setting up rope and tape.

Scene Seven: Man says "Dinner's ready" shot of kids running back from washing their hands (coming from the bathroom). cuts to kids sitting down at the table.

Scene Eight: Birds eye view of man placing plate down in front of kids. Cuts to long shot of kids picking up utensils *GLITCH* long shot of kids tied up at the table (showing the psychological aspects of the movie)

Scene Nine: Closeups of the kid's tied up hands, eyes, tape covering their mouth.

Scene Ten: Camera zooms out from original long shot of kids at the table and the screen fades to black.

Pre Production: Text Effects Research pt1

When thinking about our movie, I wanted to figure out how to incorporate the credits in a cool way. An example. Here are some examples that I found when researching....

These are some basic ways to incorpotrate text (credits) in a different way.

"How to put titles anywhere on your video with iMovie using a Transparent Picture Overlay"

"How To Make Custom iMovie Titles - Tutorial"

I wanted to do the effect where the text goes behind the person in the video but I couldn't find a tutorial for Imovie.

I will continue to do more research in the future.

Obstacle #2: Not having a Teacher

After our winter break had ended, our teacher had left the school for personal reasons. A struggle we have had so far is just not having a teacher which has made us worry for our opening sequence final and if we are not going to be prepared for the end of year exam.
