Even before the initial creating of my blog I had to figure out which website would be the best platform for me, where I would be able to gain a good grasp on how to use the tools. After playing around with both Blogger and Wordpress I knew that they both had their set of difficulties when setting everything up.
Setbacks of Wordpress: I first tried out Wordpress which I thought would be great since I would be able to create a great new website but I knew once I created my account that using the tools was not going to be easy. After a whole day of messing around with the website, I came to the conclusion that not only was I going to have to start a whole website from scratch, but trying to change the font and background was stressful. I knew that if I was to continue using this site it would've taken me a couple of days to even create a semi-decent website with possibly more bumps around the road.
Setbacks of Blogger: I then decided to try out Blogger to see if I would have a better experience and I did. I mean, don't get me wrong, Blogger gave me some minor struggles as well. For example, it took me a while to figure out how to change the text’s color and font and how to change the overall setup of the page. It also took a long time to find a semi-decent background for my blog without it either being too small and/or having to tile (Repeat the image).
My Process/ Successes With Blogger: After I figured out how to access and use the tools when playing around with the website, I went and tried to find various backgrounds that would fit my personality or just things that I thought would brighten up the website. I first attempted to go for a motivational background with a sunset and lots of colors but, as I said before, the pictures I pulled from the internet just was not big enough for the entire page. This is where I decided just to chose the pictures that were available on the website itself. After finding a decent background I also played around with fonts for my blog and also how to change the text and color of the blog's title. I changed the title name from "Isabella's Blog/ Media Studies," to "Isabella's Media Studies Blog" and italicized and bolded the font. Overall the whole process of creating this blog had its ups and downs but as time went on, using Blogger became easier to do and I was successful!
